never heard of there being any insurance issues with tinting the back windows to be honest. tinting back windows is fine, its the front windows that bring up all the issues, with the law etc. front windows have to allow certain percentage of light through or u can get a fine.

as above though you wont get any problems from insurance company/police/etc if your only doing your back windows.

its safer to have your windows tinted 1 you cant see in and 2 you cant break the glass as easy so most insurance companys arnt botherd sum might even put it down a couple of quid.

yeah i always thought some insurance companys would see it as a safety measure and not just a mod.

but as for notifying them, one of those things u could pleed ignorant and say they have been like that since u got the car. (especially when its just going to be lightly tinted).

hmmm yeah! but its just to be safe , if i say ive done it as a saftey measure and make up like a reason saying its for when driving to take glare of eyes in the back for passangers, but just wasnt sure, i knew that the fronts had to be a very light % but not going to do the fronts just the back, cheers for the help aza and joe, if anyone else knows much about tints and that feel free to post :- )

if your notifying your insurance dont say its for the benefit of ur passengers, they wont give a shit about that, try telling them you are doing it to stop people seeing anything on the back seats, ur accordion etc.
